Cadillac Unveils 2025 OPTIQ, Expanding Luxury EV Lineup

Cadillac has revealed its latest addition to its electric vehicle portfolio, the 2025 OPTIQ. This compact luxury EV SUV boasts an impressive estimated range of 482 kilometres on a full charge, standard dual motor all-wheel drive, and Super Cruise capability.

The OPTIQ joins Cadillac's growing EV lineup, which includes the LYRIQ, ESCALADE IQ, CELESTIQ, and the upcoming VISTIQ. Mike Speranzini, Managing Director of Cadillac Canada, emphasized the brand's strong market presence, stating, "With four consecutive years of record-setting sales, Cadillac has demonstrated its strong market presence in Canada."

Designed to appeal to the next generation of luxury EV buyers, the OPTIQ features a sporty and athletic design. Its 6-inch shorter wheelbase compared to the LYRIQ contributes to a more agile driving experience. John Cockburn, Chief Engineer, highlighted the vehicle's performance: "With near-instantaneous torque, OPTIQ delivers a unique and spirited driving experience."

The OPTIQ's powertrain includes an 85-kilowatt-hour battery pack and a dual motor all-wheel drive system, delivering an estimated 300 horsepower and 354 lb-ft of torque. Fast-charging capabilities allow the addition of up to 112 kilometres of range in about 10 minutes.

Bryan Nesbitt, Executive Director of Cadillac Design, described the OPTIQ's interior as "bold" and "expressive," featuring a 33-inch diagonal advanced LED display and a standard 19-speaker AKG Audio System with Dolby Atmos. The vehicle also incorporates eco-friendly materials, including recycled yarn and PaperWood veneer.

Advanced technology features include Super Cruise capability, Google built-in compatibility, and a suite of driver assistance systems. The OPTIQ will be available in Luxury and Sport trims, allowing for personalization.

Set to launch in over 10 regions, including Europe, the OPTIQ represents Cadillac's commitment to global expansion in the luxury EV market. Production is expected to begin in late fall, with pricing details to be announced closer to the production date.
